La Ginestra
(Pieve di Panico)
La Ginestra
La Ginestra holiday home is a very spacious and newly refurbished apartment with all mod cons. Situated on the side of the church in the old farm buildings that formed part of the estate of the lords of Panico, the house is surrounded by the Pieve di Panico working farm, complete with animals, crop fields and the vineyards that we use to produce our own artisanal wine. The apartment is the ideal accommodation for a family holiday or for a group of friends!
Pieve di Panico is a perfect escape from the summer heat of the city. Looking over the Reno Valley and the foothills of the Bolognese Apennines, it is a hilltop refuge nestling on the edge of the mountain range that connects Emilia Romagna and Tuscany, a region full of history and culture. The village is about 20 km from Bologna, 80 km from Florence and 35 km from the thermal springs of Poretta Terme. It can be easily reached from all directions; from the ancient road running from Bologna to Porretta, from the Sasso Marconi exit of the central A1 motorway and from the scenic hilltop road - via dei Colli Bolognesi - that winds from the city up through the hills. Rail connections are also very convenient, with frequent trains running from Bologna, Porretta Terme and Pistoia to Lama di Reno station, only 1.5 km from the farm.
Panico’s strategic location makes it ideal for hiking due to its proximity to some of the best trekking trails in the region, including ‘La via della Lana e della Seta’ and ‘L’antica via Franchigena’.
The apartment is a short distance from the local swimming pool and from the Piccolo Paradiso stables in Sasso Marconi.

How to GET HERE:
Pieve di Panico is located approximately 20 km from Bologna, 80 km from Florence, and 35 km from the healing thermal waters of Porretta Terme. There are several road connections available: the historic Via Porrettana, the A1 motorway with an exit at Sasso Marconi, and the Via dei Colli Bolognesi. Additionally, Lama di Reno station, about 1.5 km away, offers convenient rail connections to Bologna, Porretta Terme, and Pistoia.
If you’re using the A1 motorway, we recommend taking the Sasso Marconi exit, as the Borgonuovo toll is reserved exclusively for Telepass users. Telepass is an electronic toll payment system that allows drivers to pay tolls on Italian highways without stopping.
Some navigation systems suggest the Borgonuovo exit, but please note that this toll station does not accept credit cards, debit cards, or other forms of payment. We, therefore, advise taking the Sasso Marconi exit, where all payment methods are accepted.

Il Giardino Nascosto
(Bologna centro)

In The Heart of Bologna
In the heart of Bologna, only a stone's throw from the beautiful Margherita Gardens, Il Giardino Nascosto (The Hidden Garden) is located on the ground floor of a typical 1930s era building. Placed on the inside of the secluded courtyard of the building, under the shade of palm trees and holm oaks, the flat is protected from the summer heat by the courtyard garden, by the thick stone walls of the period building and by the nearby Bologna hills, that begin their ascent from the south side of the city.
Giardini Margherita
The one bedroom flat is furnished in style and is in good working order. It has a small kitchen area, a very comfortable double bed, a large walk-in wardrobe, and a bathroom with all the necessary comforts. It is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway, and at just a ten minute walk from the city centre it offers the chance to see all the main attractions of the town at a leisurely pace.
Passing through the scenic Via Castiglione, with its magnificent porticos, you arrive at the famous two towers of Bologna, Garisenda and Asinelli, the monument that is the symbol of this Medieval town. And from the city ring road that runs close to the house, a wide avenue lined with linden trees, passing by the ancient church of San Domenico, you arrive at the main square in the centre of Bologna. Here you can find the town hall and a Medieval fortress, as well as an elegant gallery of shops and bars running beside the grand San Petronio basilico. A little further on are the buildings of the ancient university, the public theatre and the conservatory.
Nettuno’s statue in Piazza Maggiore.
A few metres from the flat, along the ring road, there is a large parking facility (requiring payment), and a bus stop where you can catch a bus directly to the central station. From the central station you can catch the airport shuttle, leaving every 20 mins.
Along the Via Castiglione you can find the best ice cream parlour in Bologna, a top notch patisserie, andmany high quality restaurants and wine bars. There is also a large supermarket, open at all hours.
La nostra famiglia; Chiara, Angela, Roberto e Kobe.
Our family home is in the same building as the flat and we are delighted to welcome you to the city and to give our advice on the best attractions and activities on offer during your stay. We are on hand for any requirements you may have.
We also own a small farm and winery in the Bolognese hills, close to the village of Marzabotto, where we rent out another holiday home, La Ginestra.
We offer guests at the flat in Bologna a complimentary bottle of the wine made from the grapes from our farm.
